- Product Code: EOORAN
The orange tree is a native of China and India. It is now cultivated around the world, particularly in warmer climates. It is an evergreen tree, with bright orange fruit and shiny green leaves. This oil is cold pressed from the peels of the Navel orange.
Navel Oranges are distinctive amongst other Oranges - as they have a small secondary fruit formation inside at the top of the orange. Generally, Navels are the earliest maturing production of oranges than other varieties, which are favoured for their seedless, larger than most, thick skin so are easy to peel rinds - with a rich sweet orange flavour
The Navels have a tendency to be less vigorous in their growth, and are somewhat less productive than their fellow oranges. Growing predominantly for their superior fruit, they thrive in sub-tropical, Mediterranean type climates. * Orange Navel essential oil may contain naturally occurring bergaptens or furo/furano-coumarins, which are known to cause skin phototoxicity. This means that skin can discolour when exposed to direct sunlight, and in some cases cause burning. *
