Emulsifying Wax
- Product Code: GWEMU
When creams are created - a blend of oils and waters are commonly used. The age old saying of "water and oil don't mix" .... to overcome this - an emulsifier or surfactant is used.
An emulsifier's most useable characteristic is its ability to be attracted to both water and oil and it is this feature that allows a cream to mix without falling apart.
A constituent of many hydrophylic ointment bases for so called 'washable' ointments. It is biodegradable and not considered a threat to aquatic systems.
Auroma's Emulsifying Wax is a complex mixture, with the main component being cetearyl alcohol (derived from Palm Oil) and small quantities of other surfactants (not lauryl sulphates).
