A small evergreen tree of about 4.5 metres, with stiff spined, smooth oval leaves, that range in shades of green. Small white flowers, produce the dark green fruits (about half the size of lemons). This is the desired colour for harvesting, rather than the yellow/green when ripe.
The steam distilled method of small whole fruits, chopped peels, and slurries, as a result from mainly juice production. This form of distilling allows a non-phototoxic product.
